lol this ain't true at all there are legit websites where ecci manga trends and 18+ visual novels maket still preety big + not to forget gacha games with heavy fan service i think anime in isekai genre is more popular than ecchi ones and hence isekai replaced ecchi.

More censorships got introduced. What used to fly even 10 years ago would not do today. Also they banned Incest from anime somewhere at the start of 2010s.

| Most likely the people in charge of the medium (as well as the people who fill their pockets) trying to appeal to the widest possible audience, and if you know anything about places such as right here is the good ol' USA, fan service of any kind in anime and games is heavily looked down upon, despite people absolutely getting their rocks off on stuff like Netflix's Euphoria, Fifty Shades, or Riverdale (The last two I'm unsure if they still have a positive image in the internet's eyes so I'm basing it on what I last remember). I would love if we could get more good ecchi anime again, and would love even more if some of the classics (are High School DxD and Shinmai Maou classics in the ecchi genre?) got fully adapted. But I honestly don't know if they would. |
