The 2016 United States Senate election in Ohio will take place on November 8, 2016, concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election as well as other elections to the United States Senate and House of Representatives and various state and local elections.

Incumbent Republican Party Senator Rob Portman may run for re-election to a second term in office. He is considered a potential candidate for President and Vice President in 2016,[1][2][3] and has ruled running for two offices at the same time, even though Ohio law does allow it.[4] Potential Republican candidates if Portman vacates the seat include Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel and U.S. Representative Steve Stivers.[1]
