Hugh sheridan

I don't particularly begrudge him going off to Hollywood to find fame and fortune if that's his thing. Whatever.
I don't have much sympathy for the jilted lovers left behind either.
They all seem like pretty vacuous bunch. I don't think they are giving out care packages to the homeless when there is an A list social event to attend.
Photo snaps come first for that precious IG account above any other consideration.
I am sure this Kurt will soon find love again in the arms of someone in a speedo.

How can someone be your best friend after what, a year? You're in your mid thirties.
So much for everyone else hughsie' has known over the last couple of decades.
Best friend seems easily filled these days.
Three lines would have been sufficient rather than a page of pop psychology waffle.

This just seems like a way for Hugh to make Kurt's birthday about himself especially with all the mentions of Hugh's 'achievements' over the course of their relationship. Total narcissist move by Sheridan.

I don’t think anyone is surprised Hugh’s engagement didn’t work out. I’m surprised he got engaged to begin with - commitment is not something I expected from him. Then again, there must be an excitement and attention that comes with getting engaged that many find attractive. But when all the glamourous photos and fabulous parties with various celebrity-wannabes end and things get challenging, weak relationships don’t last.

They broke up because the Australian border is open and Hugh is back in LA sleeping on Rebel Wilson’s coach, trying yet again to break into Hollywood! I feel sorry for Kurt Ackermann, but I’m sure plenty of people warned him, and today plenty of people would not be surprised. Jay Fisher has put a big post on his IG story that references the break up and calls Hugh Sheridan a toad, and also celebrates Kurts birthday today. So Hugh-man’s timing is crap; like Hugh-man.
Did you happen to screenshot Jays story please? I’d love to see what he said.

I don’t believe Hugh is a bad person, at least based on the little I’ve seen and heard. But they definitely have some issues as far as obsession with fame, narrative, how they’re perceived by others and with traumas and insecurities. That’s one of the problems I sometimes have with queer politics. There’s so much focus on identities or telling people to “be themselves” and very little focus on confronting a lot of real problems. Despite the whining and some of the problematic stuff they’ve said, I do wish Hugh the best.

His explanations for his bi and non-binary identities are definitely cringe-y. “I have dated a woman” as if many homosexual and gay-presenting people haven’t people in a hetero dynamic in their life. “I see myself as non-binary because I think we’re all just humans”. So, you’re not actually “non-binary” then but rather “human”? While they pimped out a very brief relationship and engagement for media attention.

I understand the individualism of traumas, sexuality, fluidity, gender, mental health, love, the gender, sexual, affection, affirmation, romantic attachment, emotional investment, commitment spectrum. But it all indeed just comes off as a game to Hugh. More than anything, they’re driven by insecurities, ego, fame, clout. And of course, the media refuses to call out the messiness because the media likes to praise every decent looking person who connects to queerness. I do wish Hugh well though.

He's just an attention-seeking narcissist, whose grabbing for an identity in the hopes it will make his career finally take off. Sheridan would say he identifies as a fucking banana if it would guarantee him an article in a mainstream paper and a front page in the gay press.

The guy might be easy on the eye but his casual co-opting of identities that some people have to fight to express is reprehensible. If i ever have the misfortune of meeting Hugh Imma gonna do this:

I am leery of dictating identities or telling people what they are. Sexuality, gender, fluidity, ego, insecurities, love, relationships, motivations, internal and external struggles- these are all such individual and person-from-person things. While the gender, sexual, affection, affirmation, romantic attachment, emotional investment, commitment spectrum is so varied.

I am however uncomfortable with people (especially people beyond their 30s) casually latching onto certain identities because they find other identities “limiting” and not really having any respect for those identities they casually latch on to. There’s something very narcissistic and leech-like about that kind of mindset. Just say you’re sexual/gender “queer” or “fluid”. Or just say that you don’t believe in labels. However, if Hugh did that then they wouldn’t be able to get much attention for these identities and wouldn’t be able to shame people. It is what it is.

I can understand a young person in their late teens and early twenties buying into all this stuff but when you hit your mid thirties you should be beyond this sort of waffle and know who you are.

You can experience fluidity, questioning, paraphiliacs, hyper-sexuality, gender dimensions, internalized phobias, gay resentments, queer insecurities, mental health struggles, uncertainty about your place in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum at any point in your life. There is no age limit to any of that stuff. The problem is casually disrespectfully taking on identities because of ego and attention, some of the problematic stuff they’ve said, and pimping out a very brief relationship and engagement for some press.

The brief relationship and engagement gave him media profile in Australia during the pandemic, because Australian citizens were not permitted to travel overseas and exit Australia’s closed international borders for a period of almost 2 years, unless there was an exceptional reason. Having the umpteenth attempt at the US market while sleeping on Rebel Wilson’s couch in Hollywood was not a good enough reason for Hugh to be granted Government permission to leave Australia during the pandemic.

There’s little doubt that Hugh is willing to do and say whatever for attention and validation and is completely willing to sellout for career opportunities and because they’re irritated from being “cancelled”. But it all goes with the territory when it comes to a large percentage of entertainment industry “queers” that are chasing fame and money and career goals, especially ones who apparently experience degrees of gender/sexual fluidity and contradictions. While someone like Hugh of course has no problem taking advantage of whatever privileges and connections they have and gives no genuine fvcks about anyone else.
