This looked almost hopeless. Endless swarm of ant monsters and their king boss against a group of raiders.

It was both an intense and emotional episode imo. It just felt like death was imminent at any moment. Good to see a variety of characters fight including Cha Hae-In. She does live up to her name after all. Ending got more interesting with Shun. Next episode should be even more exciting.

Jesus Christ this has lived up to the hype so far. That ant king wasn’t even breaking a sweat mowing down the strongest Hunters you could possibly dispatch. It was painful to see muh wifey Cha Hae-In get ragdolled like that 😞 but yea they nailed that menacing presence, I was just in awe with what was happening. I even let out a loud “oh shit” when the healer guy got his head eaten 💀

Of course after how well things went initially, everything had to go south, especially when they pulled out the OST from season 1 when Jinwoo slaughtered those scumbag Hunters in episode 6 (I think I got the episode correct). Now it’s time for the boy to come save the day, as expected.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Yikes... animation wasn't the best this episode. Wasn't bad.. but yeah, yikes. Just like last season's episode eleven that looked pretty rough as well.

What a disgrace for them to use DARK ARIA this episode... didn't even match the scene imo lol. Whatever, only two episodes left I guess.

This was a weird one. The combat was very mid, some moments looked good and then the whole Cha slicing the ants happen 🤮. No Jin-Woo (not counting those 3s at the end) didn't helped it either. All these hunters are nice and all, but other than the core crew Baek, Cha and Choi, I had no interest in. The healer dying was completely expected. Only thing that surprised me was Cha getting hurt. I fully expected Jin-Woo deus machina himself before that happens.

We lost too many of our people and the ants were way too strong, especially the Walking Ant. All the S-Rank Hunters were like nothing in front of him. That's one terrifying ant. Even the strongest looked like nothing in front of him.

And, now it's time for Jinwoo to enter the battle through Exchange with one of his shadows which he left before the team leaving for the Island.

This episode was awesome. The moment that song played. We all knew it was not going to end well. The Ant King was beyond angry. Ant King was Jinwoo that moment. The only difference was that Ant King looked like he killed one Hunter. Looking forward to the next episode.

A-1 clearly saving up some budget for Jinwoo next week because this episode while solid, looked noticeably worse than the last few. Especially the scene of Cha taking out the ants lol. I can’t wait to see Jinwoo take on this new type of ant tho. He easily solo’s all the S ranks. Just how crazy is the power scaling in this show going to get if the S ranks are already outclassed??!

I still don’t get why Jinwoo ain’t go on that raid from the beginning tho!! Several lives could’ve been saved

I can see why people are saying that there's an animation downgrade, I also felt it but the episode still looked really good for the most of it. Not to mention the actual content being adapted was actually really good, I can see why people like Jeju Island so much.

I absolutely LOVE the use of Dark Aria when Beru was straight up toying with our crew, creating a parallel to the time Jinwoo was killing those guys back in episode 6 i think, a being way out of the league of the people in front of it, except this time we are rooting for the people getting frankly annihialated and not the absurdly broken being killing them. Highlight of the episode for sure.

Soooo Japan was actually planning to kill off the koreans so that they are left without any powerful hunters. Should've seen it coming honestly, I am suprised I didn't really predict that was going to happen.

Next episode is the big one. I wanna keep my expectations in check, but I'm really hoping that it's on the level of Jinwoo vs Igris. That fight specifically because it thad the best storyboard BY FAR out of the 3 big ones we've had so far. Baran might've had the best animation maybe, but the storyboard there I was personally not a fan of. Aside from animation, I wanna be able to see what's happening without having to rewatch 10 times to understand a single action. I'm sure the next episode will LOOK great, Im just hoping the STORYBOARD will also be up to par.

This was an insane episode and ngl I predicted this episode perfectly in my head. They go kill the queen ant and get whooped by that super soldier ant only to have Jinwoo come in at the end to save them and I imagine he'll go fight the super soldier ant as well.

I gotta point out though that sequence of Cha getting the final hits on the queen ant was animated absolutely beautifully I genuinely think the way she fights is so much cooler than Jinwoo, she's just so beautiful with how she moves. I doubt she's dead but man did she get hit hard so she's definitely gonna be out of it for the rest of the island raid. Honestly I see why people love her character now.

man this season completely blows season 1 out of the water.

Absolutely cruel what they do to us this episode, they basically spent an entire episode playing around just so the glazing thats about to happen w/ jinwoo is that much more saucy. Can't wait for next week. This is one of the shows I wish i never started until i could binge it all.

Damn. The ant king is terrifying. I like how he is almost like a Predator-like threat.

Saw Byung-gu's death coming from a mile away. He just looked like the type who'd go to war just to die and become motivation for other characters.

The Japanese hunters are dicks for ordering a retreat. But I guess in the end it's just what politics is like. They like using buttery words and do things only for their own self-interest.

Finally, Jinwoo decided to step in at the end. I wonder how long he was watching things go apeshit before deciding that maybe he should go. Of course, he's the hero. And the hero must always arrive late to look cool. Wonder how much death he could've prevented if he went to the mission from the start or arrived just a bit earlier.

I hate these cliffhangers.

As someone who so far really enjoyed this show... this episode was one of the worst episodes so far. Which is a shame.
Wanted to give it a 1/5 but the animation/music bumped it up to a measly 2/5. So far the worst arc.
I really hate when a show is not really consistent with its characters and the villain here is just not there....

It goes outside the nest and literally goes for 1 hit kills, immediately beheading the Japanese hunters. I can respect that.
Goes back into the nest, and for the Korean hunters, for some reason, let's call it BS plot armor, instead of killing them by one hit like the Japanese ones, he just do blunt attacks, or just goes for limbs. Then TALKS with them. THen he leaves them alive and leaves.... to go back to the Japanese where he goes back from blunt attacks right back to beheading attacks. Like.... I know the writer hates Japan but lol, at least he would not make it so obvious....

OH MY GOD, BERU'S ENTRANCE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER, SERIOUSLY, DEBUT OF THE YEAR, AND THE DARK ARIA FROM S1'S EPISODE 6, OH MY GOD. Also, such a cliffhanger should be illegal, the way he just said it without a care in the world, confident that he will go and show Beru his place, in a literal sense, our aura farmer has gone MAD. Excited for the upcoming 2 episodes and the fights being the masterpiece of a conclusion for the season!

@UTMAN There are plausible reasons, IE the Ant General is mentally screwed up by the death of the queen and the team is being kept alive by a cloaked healer who can regenerate otherwise instantly deadly wounds (at least initially).

But yes, the real reason is obviously plot armor, otherwise the Ant would have just decapitated them all.

It's blatant plot armor, which is sad because so far the show masked it's plot armor pretty well, and its villains even though they were pretty one dimensional... they were decent in a way that they were written consistently with their characters.

@deg Once again, that can be applied to worlds, settings, powers etc. Not for character writing, which failed in this arc's villain pretty badly.
