I like Kazuma, as he is one of the few male leads who actually have a personality,

I beg your pardon but... what??
@LittleOwlbear I meant in the context of what we'd assume would be its "genre" of one dude in a cast of mostly women, which is usually coded as a harem. There is rarely a good MC in that area where you actively would watch the show for that character versus the more colorful female characters. No one is watching Nisekoi for Raku, and this is generally true for most characters in a harem anime, at least until recently(?) The male protagonist are less important than a cast of cute girls to cheer on and become invested into, and often take a backseat to the characters in terms of...something. They are not as fun as the rest of the cast.

Infinite Stratos, Tenchi Muyo, Rosairo Plus Vampire, Zero No Tsukaima,Conception, My One Hit Kill Sister etc...the dudes are just average dudes who happen to exist. Nice enough, usually Japanese high school students, may run the gamut from cowardly and clueless to stoic badasses, but all lacking a personality in my opinion.

The male characters are normally considered self-insert in that they are not really characters with strong personalities, they are passive receptacles for the love and admiration of the rest of the cast or for our own ideals. It is wish fulfillment over actual character writing. Not expecting a great arc or character drama or study or anything of that sort, but do the dudes have to be boring?

Granted, Konosuba is not a harem, but its one dude with a bunch of female characters with two clearly already developing feelings for Kazuma in what is generally a raunchy comedy, so it gives off the vibe. For me, Kazuma is genuinely as entertaining as Darkness or Aqua or Megumin, and therefore as equal a reason to watch Konosuba. I like watching Kazuma as much as I like watching anyone else in that show, and think "this is the bare minimium, main characters in harems don't have to actively suck".

I don't mind people who watch AoT in general. Although, some of its fans can be a little toxic when comparing it to other shounen anime. I do of course understand that some people can have different reasons for liking characters. Even for me, I have villain characters that I like for reasons that don't include their evil intentions or actions. My post is moreso directed towards people who started liking Eren after seeing the change in his character and his motivation. If you're someone who likes Eren for deeper reasons, then that's completely fine. Personally, I'm not a fan of Eren. Not so much because of his change. But because he didn't really click for me as he has for other people.
@Prideful_Lion

Don't worry, that wasn't meant for judging or anything, I just have been curious what you think about AOT in someone's profile, and overall I share your thoughts on this. There are - rather mostly adult and not on the right-winged spectrum - people who could give an Eren character analysis without glamorizing his actions.
Personally I have mixed feelings about his characterization as a whole.

@PeripheralVision

That's fair, I guess. Tbh I rather view KonoSuba as a parody first and foremost, than a harem or anything else. My issue with it has been the same I have with almost all comedy anime: after three episodes it gets boring, imo.

Definitely agree about the AOT Eren pfps.
Lolies and Mushoku Tensei pfps also get an eyebrow raise.
One Piece pfps will always have a flag in their twitter username and broken grammar. Hard to tell if they really enjoy anything else.

The weird kind of complexes Zoomers have about PFPs or any images seems especially weird.
Like occasionally I think people using a cute avatar sends a positive signal, and people using more dark ones sends a negative one- but if their replies are decent I don't care.
I can't imagine trying to synthesize someone's political beliefs or their personal life out of a bunch of random shit like a dam avatar.

Any MHA pfp but specifically Deku they usually are just normies or have bad taste. Also anyone who has any sort of LGBTQ flags in their pfp, almost always toxic with shit opinions and they always say they love anime but hate a lot of the tropes especially pertaining to ecchi/fanservice/harem genres.

@Zarutaku Yes, everyone on MAL is an adult. I have never seen a minor post here. Anime is not for kids. Nobody ever lied about their age to create an online account.

The ones where they just scribble their Name in paint, cut it out and put it on.

It screams: "Im not like everyone. Im kinda different. I don't need a cute Anime character. Im just -Insert Name here- Hello, there"
They're a pretty self-important bunch.

@Deathko I know they are here, but the mere fact that they aren't allowed to means that nobody is obliged to take their presence into account.

Character that screams "I am a badass" but is a suburban kid with limited English (as in, only learns English at school and not willingly on his or her own): High disregard
Heavily edited pfps (severslvt related): the user has bpd, run

Now I understand the hate for people with pfps like mine, but I set this when I created the account 8 years ago and I don't see a point to format proportions for anything related to my circle that'll make sense. I was a magazine reader at the time.

Their fault, then, we don't have to be babysitters.
Besides, I had an account on Fakku when I was 14, they're ready.

I don't really judge anyone based on their pfp, but it does often tell me what they like. For example, my pfp being Josuke or my pfp being Spike Spiegel indicates I watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Cowboy Bebop, or just action anime in general.
If I had to choose between One Piece and a girlfriend...I think I'll go with One Piece

@thewiru Is it? Or is it MAL's fault for not ensuring their rules are respected?

If I put a "no minors allowed" sign in front of my pants, but don't check IDs at the entrance, can I blame a minor for getting in them?

It ia a parents job to moderate their kids; not for every website that exists.

@Deathko MAL holds their legal guardians responsible to ensure that the terms of use are respected, just like any other website.

Definitely Johan, Tenma, and Anna from Monster. Probably Satoko from Higurashi because the smugness usually carries over. Most shonen pfps are also annoying, especially Thorfinn and Eren. lol, figures half the people in here are just whining about politics correlating with pfp, REEEEEEEE.

Yes, actually.
They knew what they were getting into, and if they didn't and still took the plunge, they now do.
It's part of life.
