Thank you, Lucy, for your wonderful videos. As a sewist, your sincere, earnest, realistic approach to sewing encourages me to continue on even when the time to sew is quite short. You're terrific!
Thank you so much. Fab round up and some patterns I have not seen before. I made over 90 garments in 2024 but I am most proud of my Maison Fauve Pompon waistcoat, Closet Core Mitchell trousers and my Tessuti Richmond coat because I mastered 3 types of welt pockets. This year I want to master bag making , baby clothes for my grandchildren and upcycling some existing clothes. It’s going to be a challenge for sure. Happy Sewing😊. Lynne
Oh my word Lynne you have been busy, that is just so impressive! I don't know the Maison Fauve pattern, although watch this space, I've got a feeling we will be stocking them this year (wink wink!) and I do love the Mitchell trousers and I am a MASSIVE fan of Tessuti patterns, both of which we do stock. 3 different types of welt pocket is an awesome accolade! It sounds like 2025 will be a lot of fun too.
A brilliant roundup Lucy, thank you, with lots of beautiful fabrics. I made a lot of garments last year, often using patterns twice. I'm really pleased with some wide leg trousers made up using Simplicity S8701 with top stitching detail and also Simplicity 1538 making up a shirt in that pretty bird print cotton lawn fabric which I love. Looking forward to more of your videos with great sewing inspiration 😊
I love these videos. You have access to such beautiful fabrics. I'd love to come visit you some day. I love the fabrics you choose for your own garments. You look fabulous in everything . ❤ from Australia
I'm happy you were able to take a break, but I'm so happy you're back mashing videos! You're one of my very favorites!! This video was awesome! I love the format and your enthusiasm. Happy new year 2025!!!
Aaaaah thanks Tammy you are so kind and I love having such supportive and loyal subscribers as you, it really means the world. Here's to a healthy, happy new year!
Thank you so much Lucy for your time - sharing your knowledge and expertise continues to be invaluable. I’m excited to see what you have planned for 2025.
It's an absolute pleasure, thank you for your lovely feedback, I have nearly finished a cute dress today and I've had a brainwave for a colour blocked fleece/sweatshirt top today too, just want to sew sew sew!
Thank you for a fab and informative video - good to have you back ! The Tessuti Lois dress pattern was my revelation of 2024 - just stunning on everyone, and such a fun sew. Makes me feel feminine and confident and is a joy to wear! ❤
I'm so pleased to hear that, I definitely have to make another one this year, like you say it just feels amazing when you're wearing it for some reason, I think it is the way it hangs or something, but it is just the best.
Thank you so much for these pattern reviews! I also love the fabric suggestions- you pick fabrics that I might walk by because I can’t envision what to make with them, so that is so helpful. I enjoy your site so much!
Thank you so much I am so glad to hear that! Thank you for visiting our site too, it is the best way you can possibly support our business so thank you.
I really enjoyed this video. You reminded me of a couple of patterns I thought I’d make and didn’t get around to. I must compliment you on your Lois dress, Lucy. Both the fabric and the style look beautiful on you 👌😘 sending warmest wishes to you and your family, Angela of course, and the whole team, for a happy, healthy and continued success in 2025 😊🥂xx
A great kickstart for the New Year! Thank you. I would love to make the Tessuti Lois dress but I think the V neck would be too low. It would be great if you could give some advice on how to lift it. Thank you. Helen
Thank you Lucy and Happy New Year to you. I love the patterns and fabrics and I made the New Look 6751 maxi dress during 2024 which was so easy and straight forward and very comfortable to wear too. ....Grace
I’m tidying up and culling my patterns and NEARLY threw out a pattern like this one-a wrap! I’ll rescue it not as it looks great on you! Thanks so much!!❤ happy and healthy 2025! From Brisbane!
Happy new Year. so pleased we're getting back to normal, enjoyed seeing the patterns and fabrics. Could the neckline on the Tessuti Lois dress be raised a little please as I feel it would be too revealing for me as it's shown. Best wishes
It was this one: www.sewessential.co.uk/misses-dress-in-two-lengths-vogue-pattern-2004 such a pretty pattern and can't wait to share the full review with you very soon!
I love the Simplicity blouse at the end. Unfortunately Simplicity patterns aren't available in Canada. I will still find a way to buy it, the design lines are so pretty. Thanks for sharing .
I have the pattern to make that waistcoat so will really appreciate information on how to properly bag out the lining. I see your review of the pattern itself linked above, but is that also the tutorial you mentioned? Thank you!
Hi Lucy. Happy new year to you all. The Rosco blouse, I know you usually do a high round back and forward shoulder alteration which I need to as well. What did you do with this blouse pattern?
I just did the high round back and didn't worry about the shoulders because it is a raglan sleeve, hope that helps it is a truly wonderful pattern IMHO
I’m just about to embark on the Roscoe dress in purple double gauze. I bought the pattern after seeing your lovely blouse but also saw a double gauze dress at London Frocktails. I’m always cold🥶I’m wondering how loose it is and whether to size down.? I don’t think you did. I also like the sound of the Lois dress but the side zip bothers me. Nice to see you back and happy new year 🎉❤
Under the video you should see 'more'... if you click this it will bring up the details and if you click 'more' again it will give you the full list, hope that helps
